Dear Members and Friends,

 

I am humbled, honored and privileged to be the President of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Houston Metroplex Chapter.  I am deeply grateful to the members of the Executive Committee.  I am inspired by their commitment to AUSA and all of their achievements.  Indeed, the growth of the AUSA Houston Metroplex Chapter has been propelled collectively by the individuals and all the past presidents and past members of the Executive Committee.  I look forward to continuing this important work towards fulfilling the mission and vision of AUSA and increasing membership.

 

AUSA Houston Metroplex Chapter has expanded to add two Sub-Chapters, AUSA Sam Houston State University and AUSA Prairie View A&M University and will continue to grow.

 

Our chapter goals are in line to help other AUSA Chapters, the Young Professional Network Committees as well as facilitate the State President and Fourth Region President accomplish the goals for the men and women in uniform who serve and served our country.

 

After a wealth of achievements, however, a great deal of work still needs to be done to reach our goals.

This year, we will continue to think big. We will continue to think differently and we will look for ways to collaborate and partner with others who have shared values and beliefs.

 

We are aware of the big task.  We are up to the challenge but we need to hear from the military men and women who serve and have served and our members.  Where can we help?  How do we work on areas that align with your needs? Why not partner with AUSA Houston Metroplex Chapter to impact the community in a way that we can all be proud?  I look forward to hearing from you.

 

We have done several fundraisers and have put some programs in place including the yearly golf tournament “Tee it Up for the Heroes”, Staff Rides which provide leadership lessons for the Senior ROTC and Junior ROTC, the future leaders of the Army, and will be held at the San Jacinto Battleground.  I am working closely with the Young Professionals Network Committee to understand what activities and programs are needed for our young soldiers and veterans.  Our VP of Family Programs will be working together with other organizations that will benefit our chapter members and their families for services with health issues including PTSD and others.  

 

I am proud to be given this wonderful opportunity, and I will continue the leadership of the AUSA Houston Metroplex Chapter in supporting the past and present military men and women at the local level and on Capitol Hill.
